A lovely photo posted by Altenew (their January Inspiration Challenge) was the muse for this Thank You card.
A panel of green patterned paper was attached to a blue card. The flower stem was stamped on the card. The largest leaves were stamped on a different green patterned paper, cut out and then attached to the card over the matching leaves.
The flower stem was stamped on Dura-Lar film, embossed with white embossing powder, and then the flower blooms and buds were cut out. The buds were taped directly to the card and the blooms were attached with foam tape (hidden under the centre details of the flowers).
The sentiment was stamped on the card. The leaves and centres of the blooms were highlighted with glitter glue and smallest buds were filled in with Liquid Pearls. Sequins were attached to the card.
Product List: stamps – Flower Stem (Altenew “Best Mom”), sentiment (Impression Obsession “A5514 Thank You”); glitter glue (Ranger Inc. “Stickles” – Frosted Lace and Lime Green); Liquid Pearls (Ranger Inc. – White Opal); ink (Tsukineko StazOn – Jet Black; Personal Stamp Exchange – Super Emboss); sequins; Dura-Lar Film (Grafix)
A recently purchased patterned paper by Carta Bella and Simon Says Stamps’ Wednesday Challenge – New Something – were the jumping off point for this Rosy for You card.
A piece of the patterned paper was attached to a red card.
The for part of the sentiment was stamped on two strips of red paper which were layered and then attached to the card.
You was die cut twice from patterned green paper. The die-cuts were layered and attached to the card.
The roses and leaves were stamped on acetate and then on pattered paper. The acetate roses and leaves were coloured with alcohol inks, cut out, and attached to the patterned paper roses and leaves that were also cut out. The roses and leaves were attached to the card with foam tape, overlapping slightly. The roses and leaves were highlighted with glitter glue and crystal drops.
Product List: stamp – roses (Altenew “Bamboo Roses”), sentiment (Impress Cards and Crafts “For You”); die – Docrafts Xcut die (Mini Sentiment Die – Just for You); paper – Carta Bella (Rose Garden Wreath); glitter glue and alcohol inks (Ranger Industries “Stickles”); crystal drops (Novo Crystal Drops – Tonic Studio); ink (Tsukineko StazOn – Jet Black)
Taking inspiration from Altenew’s November 2016 Inspiration Challenge, I created this pink birthday card featuring #altenew’s Bamboo Rose stamp set.
The pink dotted paper was used as a background on a blue card and was also used for the “happy” die cut, which was cut twice and then glued together and glued onto the card. “Happy” was highlighted with chalks to make it stand out against the background of the same paper.
The rose was stamped three times on acetate, coloured with alcohol inks and also stamped three times on two different patterned papers. All six roses were cut out, the leaves were cut off all of the paper roses and one of the acetate roses. The acetate roses were layered with the paper roses and attached together with double-sided tape. One rose was attached directly to the card and the others were attached with foam tape.
The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of paper used for the card and attached over the die cut. Sequins were added to the card.
Product List: stamps – rose (Altenew “Bamboo Rose”), sentiment (Rubber Soul); die (Altenew); ink (Tsukineko StazOn); sequins; chalks (American Crafts Pebbles I Kan’dee Chalk Set)
When I saw the Concord & 9th Tree Ring stamp on #simonsaysstamp I thought it would look great contrasted with some soft flowers…. so had to order it! And the Thinking of You Wednesday Challenge seemed like a great opportunity to test out that theory.
I started by stamping the flower branch on a white card and then stamped it again on white matte cardstock. I coloured the large flowers with watercolour crayons (applied with a watercolour brush) and added some accents with alcohol ink markers. I also stamped the flower branch on a scrap of paper, which I cut out and used as a mask when stamping the tree ring directly onto the card.
I then cut out the three large flowers from the cardstock and attached them to the card (over the matching flower) — one directly to the card and the other two with foam tape to create dimension.
I highlight the leaves and flowers with glitter glue, added sequins, and stamped the sentiment directly to the card. As a finishing touch, I highlighted inside and around the outside of the tree ring with watercolour crayons (applied with a watercolour brush).

Altenew’s “happy” die is the star of this card.
The lady was stamped on a pink card and also on coloured paper. The dress on the coloured paper was cut out and glued to the card. The lady’s hair and shoes were coloured with chalks. Her lips were coloured with Liquid Pearls and her collar was highlighted with glitter glue. “happy” was cut out three times on coloured paper; the three cut outs were glued together and then the sentiment was glued to the card. “birthday” was stamped on a piece of cardstock, backed with ribbon, and attached to the card with foam tape. A flower embellishment was attached as the lady’s bouquet.
